To an unsuspecting person, Jeffrey David would appear like any other religious Jew, proudly wearing a big Kippah and his tzizit hanging out. He frequents the Chabad House administered by Rabbi Dovid Haller for many years, donates food weekly for their public Shabbat Meals and regularly receives the “Levi” aliyah to the Torah. It’s a perfect scheme, why would anyone ever suspect that Jeffrey David is actually not Jewish? However, the truth is that not only should David not receive the “Levi” aliyah, he should not receive any aliyah at all, he’s not Jewish, he is a Lebanese Catholic. Rabbi Haller was given the benefit of the doubt and people refused to believe that a Chabad Rabbi would knowingly commit such a transgression of the Torah. However, when the Rabbi was confronted in a text message for writing letters on behalf of Jeffrey and the entire David Family to assist in admitting the non Jewish grandchildren into Orthodox Jewish schools (Yeshiva College and “Amana”), letters to assist family members to make Aliyah to Israel, Rabbi Dovid Haller did not deny any of the allegations.
